The logo design process – The evolution of a logo from concept to final
www.cloverroad.ca Take a journey іntο thе mind οf a graphic designer (Robert Scozzari οf Clover Road) аѕ hе develops a logo self fοr a client. Thе video explores thе process frοm thе initial stage οf type study tο thе final completed logo.
Wait, that was a serious video? I was waiting for the punch line. W.E.T.
That was an fascinating run through the design process. Not sure I agree the final logo was the strongest.
I don’t like the final logo… it’s nearly illegible
we always learned thumbnail sketches in school, but i have yet to do that. It isn’t the same impact as designing on the notebook. you have small hegemony over the typeset, and some of use simply aren’t excellent at freehanding.
oh yeah the daily process
So many of the drafts could have been perfect as the final logo. So much of this process is the nearly random feelings if the actor or client.
I havent started anything with a pen and paper since I was in high school, I do occasionally step away from the notebook midway and sketch material out, but its much simpler to just bang out quick material to get thoughts flowing in AI then on paper, at least personally.
aka “im 35 + years ancient wah wah”
Where are the sketches? Design starts with thumbnails of concepts first, not straight to the notebook. These are all very Web 2.0 like, but i it were to start on paper with pages of concepts, something more solid might be found.
Thanks for an EXCELLENT video on the creative process of a logo.
This is so much more worth it than any tutorial on the web.
very nice
